About The Academy
Welcome to The Christie PET-CT Academy online learning platform.
If you are a radiologist, radiographer, nuclear medicine technologist or clinical assistant interested in PET/CT let your learning journey begin here.
Through our bespoke interactive and sometimes blended courses with continual assessment you will be able to advance your professional knowledge and skills.
Here at The Christie we pride ourselves on ensuring that the patient is at the heart of everything we develop and deliver; The PET-CT Academy is no exception. Our radiology reporting training in lymphoma, head and neck, lung and oesophageal cancer is endorsed by NICE as reflecting their recommendations. Please see further details below in our footer section.
If you have a username and password, please log in to view your courses and see your learning dashboard.
We offer a blended learning suite of modules specifically designed for consultant radiologists and post-CCT Fellows who wish to become accredited NHS PET/CT reporting radiologists.
On completion of the course, candidates will have a clear understanding of the evidence-based use of PET/CT imaging in clinical settings, and be able to confidently read, interpret, report and review PET/CT scans. They will also have reported on a total of 600 PET/CT examinations.
We offer a blended learning suite of modules specifically developed to complement the work-based training and competencies required to ensure you are and continue to be, safe, capable and confident practitioners.
Level 1 – Fundamentals of PET/CT
Level 2 – The process and skills required for delivering PET/CT
Level 3 – Managing problems in practice
Whether new or old to the role of clinical assistant, we have a blended package of training that will provide you with new skills or enhance the ones you already have, from effective communication with patients to understanding the patient pathway, radiation protection, IV Cannulation and more.
At the centre of everything we deliver and do are the patients and their families and carers. Our aim is to improve the patient experience and outcomes by giving patients a voice and learning from their experiences when developing and delivering training.
If we are trained and strive to provide the best services to the best of our abilities, we will deliver the best patient experience we possibly can.
